T O P I C R E V I E WYanmorgIn natal, synastry, and composite charts, by how much do you reduce the orbs and how? Do I put -(orb percentage) in the reduce/increase orb section in the extended chart selection on astro.com? how do I specifically do this? I need step by step instructions please. CanadiangirlI struggle with this too. I hope someone comments who can help.Doux RêveYou don't always need to reduce the orbs, personally I like looking at even wider aspects, but if you want to keep orbs pretty tight, you can reduce the orb to 70% or so, and even lower, the orb will be tighter and tighter. If you want a wider orb, put something like 120%.Sven555With orbs, the default percentage is 100%. So aspects which have up to 10 degrees between them.If you want to reduce the orbs, you put in a percentage which is less than 100%. For example, if you put in 50%, you are halving the orbs by 2. So all of the aspects which have up to 5 degrees between them; will be shown, as it filters out the wider aspects. To increase the orbs. simply put in a percentage greater than 100%. So 150% will allow wider aspects to be shown up to 15 degrees.150% = 15 orb degrees between aspects.100% = 10 orb degrees between aspects.50% = 5 orb degrees between aspects.10% = 1 orb degree between aspects. For me, I usually use 50% for synastry + natal and then 30% for composite. This allows me to see more of the tighter aspects which are felt more. CanadiangirlAt the default I have a grand kite with someone, does that mean at the lower percentage it wouldn't be felt?Speaking about composite on that site, is there a general one instead of just focusing on the midpoints? I know they are important but I want to see how the whole chart plays out. BUMP!!!! This is EXTREMELY good information for those of us who want to look at tight orbs in synastry and for other reasons!
